Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! Hope this finds everyone doing well as the year comes to an end. It’s been an interesting year to say the very least. Not as productive as I had hoped for, but it rarely is. I’m not going to re-cap everything that happened in 2024, but there are a few things that happened that could have long term affects in the coming months. Such as the re-election of President Trump and complete melt down of the far-left leaning media. Neither of these were shocks, but the magnitude was considerably larger than I think anyone predicted.

It just goes to show you what happens when the blue-collar members of our great nation say enough is enough. The next couple of months should be very interesting. We should be seeing some huge changes in the way our own government operates but also in how the US is viewed by the rest of the world.

The biggest changes we should see (very soon) is how we deal with immigration and illegal immigration. Of course, anything we do will create ripples across the rest of the world. Depending on how successful or unsuccessful we are will probably influence how our closest allies deal with their own problems with these sensitive issues.

Bottom line is that I agree with what President Theodore Roosevelt said way back in 1919 in a letter to the president of the American Defense Society that to be treated equally as an American “is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American . . .  There can be no divided allegiance here.”

Roosevelt added that “Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag . . .  We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language . . .  and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”

President Elect Trump has already drawn the line in the sand with Canada and Mexico. Additionally, the election is also contributing and, in some cases, having a direct effecton governments around the world. Since the election, we have seen the far-left governments of Germany, England, South Korea, and several others either fall or are being reset more towards the conservative voices.

Anyway, it should make for ‘interesting times’. Is that a good thing? Interesting times usually translates into troubled times. But as far as I’m concerned, we are in need of a shake up or wake up, whichever term you are more comfortable with. We need to return to a time where it’s okay to disagree and to have a conversation about why we disagree without someone being cancelled or called a racist or worse.

Okay, I’m getting off my soap box and back on track with the Christmas spirit. I was hoping to finish up book six in the Lone Star Odyssey series by Christmas, but unfortunately that is not going to happen. Between congressional hearings, contract mods, travel, and family, there just isn’t enough hours in a day for everything. I am pleased with what I have been able to do on book six and hope to being able to get quite a bit finished over the Christmas time off from work.

With all the excuses out of the way, I do want everyone to take a minute and go over any plans they have for the rest of December and January. These can be perilous times and please do have contingency plans in case of domestic issues. The potential is here for things to quickly get out of hand, and it could easily go either way. The holidays are always stressful, add in all the political stress, and we are sitting on a powder keg. This is perfectly safe, unless someone strikes a match, and let’s be honest, there are quite a few people out there, both internally and externally that don’t want peace.

With that said, have a great Christmas and a safe New Years. S/F David

What Now?

First and foremost, congratulations to President Trump, Vice President elect Vance, and their entire team they put together. A heavy weight has been lifted from our nation and the slide towards losing many of our rights, especially our 1A & 2A rights, has been stopped.

I’ve watched more TV in the last 36 than I have in the last ten years. But my question is now, what’s next. We have at least 3 more months where we still have several million military age illegals running around unchecked in our country.

My point is it’s going to take time to solve this problem. Will they go willingly? Or will they create as much hate and chaos when the money is turned off and our new administration begins returning them to their home countries?

My second point is these people are scattered across our great nation. And we know that many of them have little or no qualms of resorting to violence.

My overall goal of this post is to warn fellow Americans not to let your guard down. Not saying it’s going to get nasty, but it might. Stay alert, be aware of your surroundings, be prepared.

Happy Birthday Marines!

Election Week

Hope this finds everyone doing well after Halloween as we all head into election week. Also hope everyone has or is going to exercise their duty to vote.

Just as a precaution everyone should make sure their short term food stocks are prepared just in case there are disruptions with the supply chains after the election. Not saying there will be any problems, but….

Don’t think I’ll shock anyone by saying our country hasn’t been so divided over anything in a long time. There are a lot of folks out there that seem to have lost their ability to have a conversation without immediately resorting to anger. But that’s natural when they know they are attempting to defend a position they know is wrong. If it wasn’t so serious it would be almost funny.

On a serious note, everyone needs to maintain their situational awareness. Especially if you live in a built up area. The potential for elements to attempt to use any unrest as an excuse to do some early Christmas shopping is high. I think everyone knows what I’m saying. Bottom line, don’t allow yourself or your family to be in any area where they could be placed in a dangerous situation.

I’ve said enough. Just stock up and stay safe. Book six is coming along on schedule. Drop me a line if there is anything anyone wants to discuss.

Book Six

Just a quick update on book six. It’s coming along nicely and will be out in time for Christmas, at least that’s the plan right now. Of course that depends on several factors that are beyond my control. Such as a government shutdown, or the election goes off the rails, or World War III kicks off.

Of course I’m kidding, kind of, it’s hard to guess what tomorrow might bring. All I or you can do is be prepared as possible.

Speaking of being prepared, we went to Costco Saturday, yes that was our first bad choice of the day. Anyway, an hour and a half later (mostly standing in line for check out) we were able to walk out carrying (my twelve year old son and myself) over 400.00 of groceries.

If someone had told me a few years ago that my son and I could carry 400 hundred dollars of groceries in one trip, oh and I didn’t have to set down my box to get my car keys out of my pocket, I would have scoffed it off.

The point of my soapbox rant is when or where is the cost going to stop. We gripe and moan about the increased cost but we go ahead and just continue to pull out our wallets.

I’m about, not quite, but almost to green light getting milk goats. Can’t believe I’m saying that. After growing up on a working farm I always swore I’d never cross that line. Chickens, okay, pain in the butt, but doable. And they do save us a lot of money. Meat rabbits, again, doable. But milk goats, please just shoot me now. But it’s almost there.

I don’t know how families in the cities are doing it right now. But with that said, it looks like it’s going to get worse before it gets better.

I’ll get off my soapbox for now and just leave it with get and be prepared. It’s better to have it and not need it than to get into a situation where you have to say I wish……

Be safe and S/F
