Lists

Over the last four years, one of the most requested items has been my recommendations of Prepper items and gear lists. These lists are not complete; they change all the time. I add to them, and my wife deletes things that she or the kids do not like. These are my lists. You should make your own and tweak them as you need to. Do your own research to figure out what works for you. Depending on how much storage room you have and what kind of budget you have to work with will drive what you do. But don’t get discouraged, hopefully you have a little time and just set a goal and work towards it. Prepping is not done in one day, or week, or even a year. And its not just buy it and forget it. Research, learn, experiment. All the gear in the world isn’t going to do you any good if you don’t know how to use it. Get the kids involved. I’m sure I missed some stuff, so if you have anything you want me to add to the list, drop me a note. Good luck and be safe.

Update on the Lone Star Odyssey series

Felt it was time to at least give everyone an update on the series. Progress is being made, believe it or not on book 5. I’m looking at the end of April to have out the Kindle, paperback, and hardback, and of course Audible will follow shortly thereafter.

Where is book 4 Audible, you might be asking? It’s coming. That should be out within the next 30 to 45 days.

Real-world events contributed to the delay, but it is back on track and will be out soon.

I really think most of you will like book 5, as with book 4, there is a little more of what is going on with Talon’s family down in Texas. I’ll leave it with that, as I do not want to spoil any surprises for anyone.

So aside from my poor attempts at writing, what does everyone think about what is going on in the real-world? All I can say is that I hope everyone is paying attention and following the old saying, “Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.” Knowledge is power. Read, research, and experiment. You don’t have to go crazy and break the bank to be prepared. Prepare for what you might ask? I’m not talking armageddon here, that’s between you and God. I’m talking about natural disasters and man-made issues.

You don’t have to run out and spend 500.00 on a Royal Berkey Water Filter with (4) Black Berkey Elements right off the bat. That should be the goal, but you can get a 100 Gallon Water Tank, Foldable Portable Water Bob, Large Capacity Soft Water Bladder Storage Container for 50.00 and a Sawyer SP124 MINI Water Filtration System, that is rated for 100,000 gallons for another 50.00.

But with thought in mind, how many of you have actually had your tap water tested? Hmmm… do I need to remind you of Flint, Michigan?

Or spend a little extra on an extra bag of rice or beans once a month. If you don’t like rice or beans, then buy something you do like that is shelf-stable. Mark it with the date and rotate it out so it doesn’t go to waste. You’re not building a space ship, you just want to be prepared in case of an emergency.

You don’t have to have a cold storage room built into your house or apartment. Although that’s not a bad thing if you have the resources to do that. But if you spread it out over three or four months, it doesn’t cost that much to stock up on a month’s worth of emergency food.

You owe it to your family and yourself. Drop a comment to me and let me know what everyone is thinking about.

Take care and be safe,

S/F

Merry Christmas

Just wanted to say Thank You to everyone for your continued support of the Lone Star Odyssey series. Book 5 is slated to be out the end of January or first week of February. Right now it looks like I will be wrapping this series up with book 6. I hope everyone has a great and safe Christmas. It’s a crazy world right now. Maintain your situational awareness and stay safe. Update on LSO 4 & 5

Sorry that it’s been so long since I had the time to update everyone. First I what to say thank you to everyone for all the support. Because of your support the LSO Series is doing well. As an independent writer and producer it’s always a struggle to find the time and resources to get my books to market. My family life and day job leaves little time to write, much less edit, which is frequently and justifiably pointed out to me. While the series is doing surprisingly well on the Amazon best sellers lists, that doesn’t pay the bills. But than again if I was doing this for the money alone I would have stopped after the first book.

I enjoy writing and the reviews show there are at least a fair number of people that are enjoying following the adventures of Talon and his friends. I must admit I also want to find out how the story ends, and the only way any of us will ever find out is for me to finish the story. And I am working on it. Hopefully if all goes well, LSO 5 will be out in time for Christmas (that’s this Xmas).

The next question I always get is 5 the end of the story. Hmmm, I wish I knew that too. I never set out to write a long series about one storyline, but I don’t have much control over where the story takes me. I grew up reading Louis L’Amour. Not that I’m comparing my meager skills to his, but like him, I just tell a story. Hope everyone continues to enjoy the story. If you get the chance, drop me a line with any comments.

Stay safe, continue to improve your skills, give your loved ones a hug.

Great story

What I like about this story is the realism of the encounters and outcomes. First getting outfitted with equipment found at any outdoor goods store and traveling by bicycle. Makes perfect sense. Crazy, backstabbing liberal women – check. Whining, entitled college students – check. Evil, corrupt, domineering government bureaucrats with guns – check. Good guys using tactical common sense and adapting – also what is reasonable to expect in the aftermath of an attack. The ball busting banter also reads authentic. Very entertaining.

Thank you Mr Wilson

Stumbled on your books awhile back, have thoroughly enjoyed them both kindle and audio.

Talon is a true warrior in all meanings of the word. Physically, for his age, mentally and training, he is up to the job.

Your stories are well written, with detail to individuals, equipment and locations. It is a pleasure reading, please keep writing, faster! I NEED MORE GOOD READING MATERIALS.

Thank you

Best in the series so far

I’ve enjoyed all of the stories so far, but Wilson has found his groove with this latest story in his post-apocalyptic series. This one moves better than the previous stories and the subplots are better connected. Talon, former Marine and intelligence officer was stuck in Washington DC after an EMP and is trying to survive the journey home. The details are crisp, the survival info is good and the dialougue continues to improve. Good job, Mr Wilson

The story line is very good although sometimes descriptions go into too much detail. A very good read. Looking forward to the next chapter in Talons story.
