I know, it’s been awhile since book two came out. I have all kinds of really good excuses but none that matter to everyone wanting to find out if Talon finally makes it out of Virginia. I really appreciate all of the suggestions for dealing with Beth. I’ll just leave it at that. All of you can give me feedback after it plays out. I really do appreciate all the support and positive feedback. I’m attempting to do a better job on the editing end. Not going to make any excuses about that other than I know my old English teacher is spinning in her grave. I really hope everyone enjoys book three. Kindle should be out by end of August. It’s time to get back to it. Again, be safe, stay alert, go to the range, it’s going to get a lot crazier before it gets better. S/F

Just wanted to take a moment and thank everyone for their patience and support. Book 3 has taken much longer to finish than it should have. Some of the delay is completely my fault, but some has been caused by my day job and then of course we can never forget the impact of current events. I also want to remind everyone to please be careful and always maintain their situational awareness. We live in chaotic times and we can’t always rely on law enforcement to protect us. While the vast majority of our local law enforcement are truly dedicated and want to do nothing but do their duties to the best of their abilities, the current political attitude and “woke” policies have created an environment that have forced them to become completely reactive. I admire them for their hard and often dangerous work, but we must realize that they too have families to support and they have the right to go home at the end of their shift.

That said, it means we have to be prepared, vigilant and must always keep our heads on a swivel. The press isn’t helping with it’s constant distortion of reality. I am so sick and tried of hearing how the “right” is going to destroy democracy, when in fact it’s the “left” that constantly bring the violence.

All of us have the right and duty to vote and if you care about the future that our kids are going to have to live with, then get out there this fall.

Going to climb down off my box and again say thank you. I’m an indie publication so it means a lot to hear from everyone. I figure that I will keep at it as long as there are at least a few of you out there. S/F stay safe.

Sitting down to my computer tonight I was determined that before I started writing on my book, I would write a short post to everyone. Without thinking I typed out the above title. Then it struck me, we really are “almost there”, the key point being that phrase could mean many different things, depending on whom is reading it. Is it about our economic,or the direction our once mighty country is going, or about how weak we (our leadership) have become on the world stage, or is it how we have forgotten how the horror of the holocaust (both the Jewish and the Armenian) not to forget the current ongoing extermination of the Uyghurs. Or is it the pitiful way our country has stood back and allowed Russia to invade and take by force of arms territory they wanted, therefore setting the future stage for China to do the same to Taiwan while we sit back and watch. Or is it how we have gone from being almost energy independent to whatever you want to call we are today. Or really is it about where the next 70.00 dollars is going to come from to fill up your car so you can get to work next week or worst yet having to tell your kids we have to cut out summer sports camp this year because cash is short right now.

Noticing a trend here, not once did I say, fear for your life or the life of a family member (although I guess that depends on where you live right now). Most of us can still walk from our car to our house without fear (staying alert) but not in fear, but slowly we are almost there…..already there if you have to ride the NYC subway. How many of you have stopped doing something as simple as going to the mall with your family because of what “might” happen? Some might say your “privilege” is showing and to that I say, you are damn right it is. I’m an American. It is our right or privilege to feel safe in our home, car, town, or even on the subway in NYC. And something is wrong, really wrong with our society if we start living in fear. I don’t know about you but I refuse to accept that for myself, my family, my nation. We are better than that or were. Up to you. Bottom line, we are almost there.

Oh, and by the way, I’m in the editing and clean up phase of book three. Hoping to have it out on Kindle by the end of April. Audible soon after that. Take care, be safe, be prepared. S/F

First I hope that this finds everyone and everything doing well this holiday season. This past year has been more than a little crazy, both in the writing world and the real world. Hopefully I’m back on track and will have out book three before too long. Not making any excuses but the real world issues have to be dealt with before I can spend time on my writing. Reality can sometimes be much stranger then any friction I could ever dream up, but with that said I will get book 3 finished before long. I also appreciate the volunteers to beta read book 3 for me. Well here it is January of 2021 and Book 3 is still not finished. 2020 was not a good year for writing. Oh don’t get me wrong, I have wrote enough material for three books but 90 percent of it ended up in the trash. Not trying to make excuses, well maybe a few. Current events messed up two of my major plots and current government reactions caused a major rewrite. That I’m working on now. Please understand I still have to walk that thin moving line between fiction and nonfiction as I still work full time for the government. All of my plots were developed at least two years ago but many are so close to current events, well bottom line I have to re develop them so I don’t get accused of just hyping current events. Hang with me, I’ll have Book 3 out in just a few more weeks. I really do appreciate all the comments and feedback everyone has provided. Hello everyone, Sorry it has been a long dry spell for the next book to come out in the Lone Star Odyssey series. I have been (and still are) stranded in D.C. during this pandemic. My day job has been busy and for the most part I have been confined to “working from home”. Some might think that this would be perfect for a writer (I’m using that term very loosely). However, it has turned out to not work out well for my own writing. Hopefully I have finally worked out the problems and I can return to work on finishing up the third book in the series. I appreciate all of the comments on the first two books.

Not to reveal anything about the third book, but Talon will have some difficult decisions to make regarding his mission to get home. Almost a month has past since the terrorist attacks and the EMP and Talon is extremely frustrated with his lack of progress in getting home to Texas. Now to make matters worse he and his small group have been forced to defend themselves from rouge governmental elements. This has resulted in the labeling of Talon and his group as terrorists.

The bottom line is now Talon must make a decision to attempt to save his friends from a wrongful detention and possible execution at the hands of these rouge elements or should he just walk away and continue on his way to get to his family.

I am working towards a publishing date of sometime in late October to early November. Again I apologize to everyone that has been waiting. Now that the kids are back in school and things are beginning to return to the new normal I should have enough time to get back to writing.

I hope everyone is staying safe and not been affected by the riots and crazies. Maintain your situational awareness and avoid attempting to go anywhere need the riots. I agree that everyone has the right to peacefully protest whatever they want, but blocking traffic and attempting to intimidate drivers are crossing the line. I cannot and will not tell you how to handle these situations legally. But I do write about how Talon handles a riot/mob in this third book. I would not recommend handling any current event in the same way, however, there is only one way to cure stupidity when your life or the life of a loved one is endangered, and that is a .45 lead pill. Because as everyone knows, high levels of lead in the bloodstream can result in brain damage.

I would also ask everyone to keep of neighbors out west in their thoughts as they have to deal with the forest fires and our friends down in the gulf having to deal with the hurricanes. Steve, the narrator for the series, almost lost his home to the fires. So please be careful out there, but be prepared.
