Well here it is January of 2021 and Book 3 is still not finished. 2020 was not a good year for writing. Oh don’t get me wrong, I have wrote enough material for three books but 90 percent of it ended up in the trash. Not trying to make excuses, well maybe a few. Current events messed up two of my major plots and current government reactions caused a major rewrite. That I’m working on now. Please understand I still have to walk that thin moving line between fiction and nonfiction as I still work full time for the government. All of my plots were developed at least two years ago but many are so close to current events, well bottom line I have to re develop them so I don’t get accused of just hyping current events. Hang with me, I’ll have Book 3 out in just a few more weeks. I really do appreciate all the comments and feedback everyone has provided. And to those that have followed me and made comments, I will be sending out free Audible copies to the first 50 that respond after it hits the release date. Thanks again for the support. Stay safe.

Growing up in the Ozarks, David spent a great deal of his time growing up with his Grandfather, learning how to fish, hunt, and trap. Additionally, he learned many of the old skills such as how to hold a star drill (which by the way I would not do for anyone now that my Grandfather is gone), hack a rail road tie and how to make hand made shake shingles. Joining the Marine Corps (0341) at the age of 17, he enjoyed his time in the grunts, but switched over to Counterintelligence after picking up Sergeant. Staying with the USMC for just over 20 years, he retired in 1998 at the age of 38, attaining the rank of CWO-2. After retiring he has worked for a few different government agencies and as a contractor in Iraq and Afghanistan. Still active as a contractor, he enjoys writing in what spare time he can find, with his first published book coming out in May 2019, “Lone Star Odyssey”. His second book in the series should be out late fall 2019. Living in Texas with his wife and kids, most of his time outside of work is spent with his wife and kids, their horses and dogs, and with repairs around the ranch. 1st book was delicious, fun, enjoyable.
Lots of prepping and tactics. Different from plenty of pieces I had before.
I am about to start the second, ideally when you’ll issue the third one. Just have the flow.

I loved the first two books of this series and have reread them during the quarantine earlier this year. I am excited to see what happens in the third installment! I have no problem waiting for quality stories such as yours.

Just found this series. I was checking out military/ survival novels, perhaps a need to put sense to a world, as well as an escape from the reality of current events. This series really struck a chord. Mr Wilson, you are doing great work. The wait will be worth it. I completely understand how current events can hamper creativity, or create caution in illustrating the world you are creating. Please take your time. All of us out here are truly enjoying your story. Thank you for what you do.

Have listened to them 3 times now as my night time go to sleep or can’t get back to sleep listening! LoL! I love all the characters and the narrator has great tone and inflection when reading the different parts…Can’t wait for #3 bit will be patient….would love to get one of the first 50 audio gifts…or not very fun to win a great book!
