Book Six

Just a quick update on book six. It’s coming along nicely and will be out in time for Christmas, at least that’s the plan right now. Of course that depends on several factors that are beyond my control. Such as a government shutdown, or the election goes off the rails, or World War III kicks off.

Of course I’m kidding, kind of, it’s hard to guess what tomorrow might bring. All I or you can do is be prepared as possible.

Speaking of being prepared, we went to Costco Saturday, yes that was our first bad choice of the day. Anyway, an hour and a half later (mostly standing in line for check out) we were able to walk out carrying (my twelve year old son and myself) over 400.00 of groceries.

If someone had told me a few years ago that my son and I could carry 400 hundred dollars of groceries in one trip, oh and I didn’t have to set down my box to get my car keys out of my pocket, I would have scoffed it off.

The point of my soapbox rant is when or where is the cost going to stop. We gripe and moan about the increased cost but we go ahead and just continue to pull out our wallets.

I’m about, not quite, but almost to green light getting milk goats. Can’t believe I’m saying that. After growing up on a working farm I always swore I’d never cross that line. Chickens, okay, pain in the butt, but doable. And they do save us a lot of money. Meat rabbits, again, doable. But milk goats, please just shoot me now. But it’s almost there.

I don’t know how families in the cities are doing it right now. But with that said, it looks like it’s going to get worse before it gets better.

I’ll get off my soapbox for now and just leave it with get and be prepared. It’s better to have it and not need it than to get into a situation where you have to say I wish……

Be safe and S/F
