Just a quick update for everyone. With volleyball and skating season over I will have some time to get some writing finished up. Book six of Talon saga is coming along nicely and has a couple of twists and turns. Trying to be real with the estimate, but my best guess is the beginning of June.
Of course, a lot depends on the situation in the Middle East. I’m still working on a program with the DOW and that takes up 10-12 hours a day during the week. You know the old saying about “interesting times”, well that’s where we are.
Right now I’ve kind of shelved the “Broken Chronicles” as I haven’t received much feedback from readers. After I finish the next two Lone Star books I’ll take another look at that series.
Not directly related to my books, but kind of is, are some of the things that are happening in states passing laws restricting the 2d amendment. I encourage everyone to get involved. One of the things that really bugs me is that some politicians treat the 2d amendment as if it’s not an amendment. If they attacked and treated the 1st amendment like they do the 2d everyone would be protesting. As far as I’m concerned, there isn’t a gun problem, there is a parent problem. Growing up in the 60s and 70s we all had gun racks in our trucks and drove to school with them. No one even locked there vehicles back then. We never had a single incident with either guns or knives. What does that say about our society.
I’ll leave it there and get off my soapbox. Hope everyone has a great weekend. S/F. David

Ready for the next Lone Star book!!! I wasn’t sure about the Broken Chronicles when I saw it drop, but since I enjoy your writing I gave it a shot and loved it too! Whatever order you decide to write them, I will read them all. Keep up the good work!

I have to find out what was getting into Lance’s cave.

You are right on about the situation right now. I am going to try to get my 16 year old grandson to read your Lonestar odyssey first steps so that he has an idea what can happen. Right now he is so busy fishing its hard to get him to think about anything else. At least girls aren’t the problem now unless they like to fish luckily he only has a one person fishing kayak which he has bought with money he earned when not fishing.
I’m sitting at my remote cabin in Alaska and Happy as can be.
Thanks for your updates.

Just a quick note to thank you for the books. I am currently reading A Fair test . very good so far. have you actually had interactions with someone like Lances PTSD that inspired the beginning of the book. I lost a good friend who survived with me in Viet Nam. It was years after we got back and he had gotten into alcohol and was recovering but had a heart attack at age 48 while running to catch a bus to an AAA meeting. I sure hope the VA is doing better at helping our returning troops. we are lucky we returned and have had a good life. BTW my 16 year old Grandson just got his drivers license and a Job for the summer. I don’t know how much time he will have for reading. I when i get back to Maine next week I’ll ask him if he will listen to your books on Audible. thanks for the books you sent me.

Hello Jim, sorry to hear about your friend. And yes, one of my best friends lost his entire team and both of his lower legs to an IED in Iraq. PTSD is a real problem, as I have some personal experience with that after over three years in Iraq and five years in Afghanistan.
Hope you like ‘A Fair Test’. Let me know if you do want any of the books on Audible, I can send you codes for free downloads.
Hope everything else is going well. Book six of Lone Star will in out in June. Take care, S/F Dave
